Scientist to Mama

About Me

I never imagined myself helping families feed their babies! With a background in Microbiology, and expertise in clinical trials, I spent over ten years in the pharmaceutical industry. The birth of my daughter in 2015 turned my world upside down. I made the difficult decision to leave my corporate career, and dove headfirst into the world of motherhood. A big part of this journey was breastfeeding, and similar to the experience of many other mothers, it was nothing like I expected! I found myself lost, frustrated and envious of the beautiful breastfeeding photos, all over the internet.

A few weeks postpartum, with the nudge from a close friend, I attended my first breastfeeding support group. Little did I know, this would change the trajectory of my life, in the best way. With the group’s help, home visits from an IBCLC, time, patience and tons of support from family, we went on to breastfeed for several years. I became passionate about helping others reach their feeding goals, and in 2018 joined a local organization, as a peer counselor.

Counseling other families led to the decision to make this a career, and become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). During my second pregnancy and the months that followed, I worked to meet the requirements, study and sit for the exam. This time around equipped with the knowledge to identify feeding challenges and where to seek help!

My background and love for clinical research, helps me navigate all of the available information, providing your family with the most comprehensive, evidence-based care. My approach is a holistic one, ensuring we get to the root of feeding challenges, as well as supporting mom and baby's overall well-being. Provider referrals and alternate modalities are recommend when preferred.

I take a special interest in supporting parents of toddlers and older nurslings, as well as advocating for extended breastfeeding. Feel free to reach out with questions regarding this topic.

Whatever your feeding goals, I am here for you at every point. Contact me with questions, or to book a consult today!
