30 Weeks Pregnant

The point of no return.

No Man’s Land.

Call it what you want, if you’ve been pregnant you know….. there’s no going back at this point.

I remember this vividly from my first pregnancy. Coming home in tears proclaiming, “ahhhh… this is what all of these women are talking about”.

Where the discomfort has reached epic proportions.

Bending over to put on shoes…. a joke. Forget tying or fastening.

Pants, a five minute ordeal as you bring each leg up slowly.

Simple day to day tasks, sucking the wind out of you.

The random crying over the amount of energy it takes to do something is almost humorous.

Then you realize there are at least two months left……and you cry some more, there’s nothing funny about that.

Just when you think your stomach can’t stretch anymore it gets bigger.

Sweating, aching, crazy weird changes happening on the regular.

It’s a mental game, as well as physical, the end.

And we’re doing it.

One day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time, focusing on the precious little soul inside me.

My sister-in-law reminded me how incredible our bodies are and what they can do…. and if you are doing this with me (which I know quite a few of you are), I see you… and you are a BADASS.

  1. Girl, I feel you. I’m 37 weeks today, everything is a small chore. But I’m also grateful to have made it to this point. I’m thankful all my little aches and pains are little aches and pains and not big ones. I get it, wholeheartedly.
